BlueTop Farm is ideally located down a quiet country road off the Oxley Highway only minutes to Tamworth airport, AELEC & the centre of town. Set on a tranquil 100 acres, the property lends itself to a number of equine pursuits and offers a range of services for you and your horse including spelling, agistment, training, coaching, facility hire and overnight stay for both you and your horse.
The property was purchased in 2017 by Linda Comis; a knowledgeable horsewoman with years of experience learning from some of the top trainers across a variety of different disciplines. Growing up in Sydney's western suburbs, opportunities and learning was geared mostly towards the English disciplines; predominantly dressage. She has trained under the watchful eye of elite coach Ann Slatford for many years whilst in Sydney, training her own horse from breaking in through to FEI level. Since moving north, Linda begun training with the talented Grace Kay in the Hunter Valley on her dream horse; Warmblood mare "Cooramin Santinegro", whom she purchased as a foal and has aspirations of developing through to Grand Prix.
Linda also has a strong background in Thoroughbred racing; from stable management and race day prep to riding breakers & pre-trainers for some of Sydney's leading trainers, as well as having years of experience driving for Goldners horse transport, one of the leading racehorse transport companies in Australia.
Along with her dressage and racing experience, Linda has had the fortunate opportunity to spend years learning from one of the cutting horse industry's greatest; Dodge Lamey. Here she not only got to learn all about the world of cow horses, but she also had the opportunity to hone in on her horsemanship skills, especially with young horses and breakers. Her most humbling achievement was co-winning the 2014 Rookies title with her very special mare "Cons Return" in her first show season.
Regardless of discipline, Linda's core values and deepest passion has always been about good horsemanship, correct training and honouring the integrity of the horse. One of her biggest mentors and most influential horseman in her life has been Rob Horne. As a teenager and young adult, Linda was fortunate enough to spend some time learning from this incredible horseman, and owes much of her "foundations" to him and his teachings, and has aspirations of heading to California to spend some time learning at Flag Is Up Farm; the home and training centre of Monty Roberts.
With a passion for correct training and good management, Linda’s vision is to develop BlueTop Farm into one of Tamworth’s premier horse properties; a place that is supportive of people’s dreams and conducive to achieving goals. Whether you’re spelling your racehorse or performance horse, a top level competitor or a weekend pleasure rider, BlueTop Farm offers you the ideal place to spell, agist or train your horse.
